“Whoa! Do that again!”, “Can I please make another one?”. Our DIY card printer was spitting out LED cards at maximum capacity as groups of Gen Zers crowded around our counter at the Singapore FinTech Festival a couple of weeks ago.
Back to The Good Old Analogue Days
In this digital age, you would think the interest in physical cards from the future generations would be fading. But it turns out, growing up in a virtually saturated world has led younger consumers to be prefer and enjoy fun and immersive IRL experiences away from their screens.
Just like the comeback of vinyl records, film cameras, and reading physical books, the younger generation, as well as nostalgic millennials, are craving more tactile and analogue experiences from the days before the internet and digital takeover.
So, what was it from Goldpac’s booth that got our visitors so excited? It was our custom LED cards which flashes when placed near any NFC or POS reader, personalised with whatever images the guests wanted (well, whatever they were willing to upload to our laptop). Visitors personalised their cards with their recent travel photos, name cards, favourites celebrities, and their loved ones (cue “You Light Up my Life”).
Illuminating Brand Image with LED Cards
The possibilities are endless for card issuers to liven up their cards by combining the array of lighting effects with the limitless design ideas. LED cards are such a unique feature to boost brand image and really make an impact, appealing to users who resonates with the brand’s ideals and style conscious users who value showcasing their personality.
This fun engaging element boosts card activation and usage by enhancing users’ everyday experiences. As the lights are powered solely by its NFC field and do not require battery, LED cards can be used as payment cards, access cards, NFC business cards, themed IP collectibles, digital loyalty and membership cards, video game cards and so much more.
We were so glad to see so many young aspiring fintech trailblazers excited about the personalised card experience and LED cards. See our LED cards in action here:
